Our Story
Going back to our roots... Zapach, pronounced (Zah-pah-k) means scent or fragrance in Polish and is typically used to describe a sweet or pleasant smell. Growing up in Wisconsin where there is a large Polish ancestry population I remember going to the different Polish themed festivals, and heritage days, singing and dancing to polka songs with my grandpa, and eating all the Polish sweets my Grandma would make for every holiday or special occasion. So when it came time to decide on a name, going back to my roots to remember where everything started was the perfect fit for our small business.
As to why we decided to create our candles, too many times we have gone to a store for a candle only to be disappointed when there wasn't any scent while burning or there was an overpowering chemical smelling fragrance. In addition to this a lot of times the candles seemed to not be tested for quality and burned unevenly causing much of the wax to be left over and unusable in that candle. Because of this, we set out to create a quality, luxury candle that burns evenly and not too fast or slow. This ensures that each user gets the most out of their candles while having the perfect balance of scent release and burn time. Our hand poured luxury soy candles are made to compliment a room, not overpower. We decided to take this a step further by using a wooden wick for added ambiance and creating scent collections with different moods and feelings in mind. We also wanted cleaner burning candles, so we use USA grown organic soy, fragrance oils created without the use of phthalates and wood wicks manufactured from 100% US US trees.
